Rest in peace, our friend. Bob and I use this web site often to answer questions about St. Joseph's past.
Pam, we are so sorry for your loss.

Just want to say your site is very interesting.
I had family and my family lived there for a few years I was like 13 then, my great-grandmother and some of her family also lived there.
My baby brother and sister was born there.
Family names are VanHoutans on my mothers side and Williamsons on my fathers side.

My grandfather was Alfred Seitz of Seitz meatpacking. I never knew him but was delighted to find mention of him on your history page.

Pam,
Had no idea we had an historian and archivist living right across the street. What a great legacy. We look forward to learning a lot more about St. Jo with this site.

As a 19 year old teenager I came to St Joseph after I year of college...told my Dad I wanted a job instead of School - 1966. Got that job at Whitaker Cable downtown - winding cable wire for computers...Eventually got an office job at Western Dairy-loved working for the Fenners! Shortly there after nights saw me back in college at MWSC..sidenote took me till 1983 to get that degree....Great memories-moved to Texas due to a promotion for my husband in his career with Consolidated Freightways in 1984...now live at Lake of the Ozarks back in Missouri - This 73 year old says a big thanks for the fabulous memories

I lived in St Joe for about a year over 50 years ago. It was a treat looking at all the businesses and having memory cells jogged. Sammy's Drugs was one of my favorites and the Thomas Brothers Market, which was open 24 hours was a real treat for the munchies at 2am. Great website, a valuable resource.
